SERVICES
Advocacy
We work at the local, state, and national levels to encourage new and better services for people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. The Executive Director of The Arc is available to consult with parents on IEPs and other situations involving services for their children.
The Arc Op Shop
The Op Shop is an adult day support program. Adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities improve prevocational skills, self care, social, and communication skills. Craft products are produced as part of the program. The products are built and finished in an integrated setting employing handicapped and non-handicapped staff. Each product is handcrafted and many are original designs.
Key benefits of the Op Shop are:
• Self Worth
• Vocational & pre-vocational training
• Medical waiver provider
• Community integration
• Personal & self care training
Parent-to-Parent
Our chapter of Parent-to-Parent is part of a statewide network of professionally trained parents who want to be there for parents in need. We provide information on the resources in the community, educational resources, and a supportive contact with another parent who understands.
If you want to talk to another parent or would like to be a "parent partner," please contact us at The Arc Office.
Teenage/Adult Canteen

During the school year, Canteen is held twice a month at the Rec. Center in Westover Park, 305 South Dogwood Drive, Harrisonburg.
