Unplanned absences and tardiness present a burden to The Arc and coworkers.  They add to the workload, increase stress, disrupt the work of others, hurt employee morale and increase staffing costs.

Unexcused absences, excessive excused absences and excessive tardiness are cause for progressive corrective action and may have a negative effect on performance appraisals, promotion, and continued employment.

Unreported absences shall automatically be considered lost time and shall not be creditable toward sick leave or vacation.

In the rare instances when employees cannot avoid being late or are unable to report to work as scheduled, they should notify their supervisor as soon as possible in advance of the anticipated tardiness or absence.
