Benefits eligible employees have ten (10) paid holidays per year comprised of three (3) floating days and the following seven (7) set days:

New Year’s Day – January 1

Memorial Day – Last Monday in May

Independence Day – July 4

Labor Day – First Monday in September

Thanksgiving – 4th Thursday in November

Day after Thanksgiving Day – 4th Friday in November

Christmas Day – December 25

When a holiday falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be considered the official holiday. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered the official holiday. Temporary employees are not compensated for holidays. 40-hour full time employees shall be paid 8 hours at their hourly rate for a holiday. 30-hour full time employees shall be paid 6 hours at their hourly rate for a holiday.

Floating days must be requested at least two (2) weeks in advance and approved by the immediate supervisor.  Floating days shall be scheduled so as not to overlap with another employee’s leave or times of peak workloads.

Religious Observance

Employees may use sick/personal or vacation days to observe and be paid for religious holidays not included in the regular holiday schedule provided:

  • The time is requested at least two (2) weeks in advance
  • The request is approved by the immediate supervisor
  • The requested day(s) does not fall during an emergency where we cannot accommodate the request
