History

The Arc of Harrisonburg & Rockingham was founded in 1962 to support persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Today, we are part of a network of more than 700 chapters of The Arc throughout the country.  We are affiliated with The Arc of Virginia, The Arc of the U.S., United Way of Harrisonburg & Rockingham County, and the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce.

Mission

The Arc of Harrisonburg & Rockingham promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lives.
